What we did

(Clarinets and Percussion had instruments today)
  • Review proper posture and hand position
  • Reading and performing line 1, 2 and 4 in the Standard of Excellence
    • Concert D, C, Bb
  • Perform Benchmark line
    • Play line 7 with acceptable tone quality, correct rhythm and in good time.
  • Played line 10 (one time)
  • Briefly discussed and attempted legato half note rhythms

Looking Forward
  • Counting and playing half notes and half rests on page 7: lines 11-14
  • Counting and playing quarter notes and rest on page 8: 15-17
Must establish a good legato articulation; no breath between notes; all articulation is whole note based


All students should be able to meet performing targets on line 7 by Nov. 10
